But first, if you're thinking about making a topic Flipnote, don't forget to check out next week's topic theme and its description, as well as the upcoming Topics listed at the end of the Newsletter.

And now, here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic "Bread". Well done to everybody who entered.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Bread"

Our first bread winning topic selection this week, by Morgan, is a thoroughly delicious sounding Flipnote recipe for a sweet bread called Melon Pan.

Besides drawing, one of Morgan’s other favorite hobbies is baking. And it was this very recipe that sparked this creator's first interest in the tasty pastime.

Why not follow the instructions and give it a go yourself. The rewards will be yummy!

Ready, steady, bake!

Our next topic winning Flipnote is this chucklesome, bread-punning creation by J◎3Ⓨ911📱😃™.

Including such classics as “Quit loafing around”, and “Why don't you bake me”, we were bread-rolling around with laughter as the crusty quips just kept on coming.

“It’s raining bread”............Hallelujah….In this musical take on the topic theme by FIotaga.

But this shower is a lot heavier than regular rain drops, and the stick man caught out in the downpour is both angry, then shortly after, unconscious.

Oopsy indeed! “Chuckle”

The thrills of bread itself are the subject of this winning Flipnote by jason.

However, after an enthusiastic beginning the host’s exuberance wanes as he considers the simple loaf.

Perhaps he should make a sandwich! “Giggle”

The character animation, lipsynch and facial expressions are beautifully executed and include a perfectly timed eyebrow wiggle and drop as his thought process changes from excitement to apathy in the performance.

.

Up next are several winners, who all chose fantastically weird and scary interpretations of bread for their Topic winning entries.

We just love them!

.

What lurks beneath a stick man's bed on a dark and eerie night?

Rattling breath!

The smell of a musty crust!

However fearful, he must not look!

For if it’s bread under the bed, it’s a time for dread…….In this nightmarish tale of a long lost sandwich by Creaky

Here’s another terrifying slice of bready terror, this time from angelo256.

A pair of creepy twin girls with an unearthly shine, wreak devastation with a slice of toast in this Flipnote inspiration of a scary movie classic.

Can someone call the emergency services, or perhaps the Toast Busters!

Eeeeeeek!

There’s something monstrous beyond a rip in the fabric of bread in this otherworldly, bread dimensional, topic winning entry by yana87.

But all is not lost….

For the bread has now fallen. And the disaster is averted!

If you leave your bread out overnight, instead of eating it, you could be in for a wacky and bizarre surprise, as we see in this time-lapse bread animation by Colinious.

However, in this case, the surprise in question proves to be more than would be expected, when the moldering bread grows into a sentient life form of unknown origin! “Astonished gasp!”

This Weeks Topic - "Knitting"

Knitting is a method of creating fabric and textiles by interlacing sheep’s wool or yarn with the use of long needles.

Many different things can be knitted in all sorts of patterns and stitch types, including warm jumpers, soft cushions, cute teddy bears, as well as bobble hats, scarves and gloves to name but a few.

Any of these would be great subject for a Knitting Flipnote.

But in animation we can imagine anything we like. So why not make a Flipnote about knitting something outlandish, unbelievable, or absolutely impossible!

Here’s a couple of fun ideas to inspire you:

How about a knitted house, a car, or a cake, with edible yarn. Or magical knitting needles that bring their creations to life.

Feel free to make them your own, or surprise us with yet crazier ones of your own devising.

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Knitting and the deadline for your entries is August 28th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
