Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly News Letter. There was a great response to last week's topic "Distortion". Well done to everybody who entered. Here are the winning Flipnotes.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Distortion"

In our first selection this week, User has used the DSi camera, with distortion mode, to create two cool spiralling animations of his icon character. One spirals inwards, and the other outwards. That's great control for smoothness of movement. We really love to see the DSi camera being used to animate drawn characters like this. It's like a new Flipnote tool :D.

In this next entry, Sqwidgirly has incorporated camera distorted drawing effects of spiralling and splurging into an exiting verses match between her icon character, and a squid! Look out, the squid's started spinning!

In our next entry, a pair of special glasses cause great confusion for their wearer. Using another of the DSi camera functions, Kaleidoscope mode, YahiryDany created the mesmerising view through the Kaleidoscope-glasses.

In this Flipnote by FloofyFox, a little fox character distorts a stick man standing next to him, splodging the image with his hand. Seeing the camera distortion effect being caused by a cartoon character like this totally blew us away!

This MV by Kêithkash★ uses traditional Flipnote tools to create shape based distortions in time with the music. Groovy!

We count four different distortions, made with both the DSi camera, and Flipnote Studio, in this entry by Latina.pe. We loved the great image detail here, achieved by importing the photos to both layers in Flipnote.

mrjohn has stopmotion animated himself on the DSi camera, and then distorted those photographs to create inflation and stretch, in this hilarious entry. We hope he won first place. That is one seriously weird talent!

Beware, this wizard casts a spiral distortion spell on his foes. Poor little devils! We're really delighted with the way the idea features the distortion effect so beautifully in this Flipnote by YahiryDany

Televisual distortion is rife in this surreal entry by ☆wappy!!☆. The shading is very skilfully done, giving the images an almost photographic feel.

This astonishing Flipnote by kenpa(ケンパ) is beautifully detailed and chocka-block full of distorting movement. We studied it closely, and think it's made using the DSi camera in Kaleidoscope mode, but their could be some other tricks of the trade in use too. Really brilliant skills!

Every kind of distortion we could think of, including spiralling, wibbling, undulating and pixelating have been used in this entry by PANTEL™. How many can you count? It's a real feast for the eyes!

This cute dancing mushroom has really got some moves! There's also lots of great animation distortions, like squash, stretch, skew and inflate in this Flipnote by kenpa(ケンパ). Go for it little mushroom!

This Weeks Topic - "Tanks"

A Tank is an armoured fighting vehicle. They usually have a main rotating gun turret and caterpillar tracks. Operated and driven from inside by a trained crew, they can go almost anywhere. Formidable, powerful and heavy, they can easily crush cars and crash through buildings.

From the Sherman and Tiger tanks of World War II, to the modern up-graded versions, tanks have changed little over the years, and they're just so hard-core and cool!
