Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly News Letter. There was a great response to last week's topic "Cake Decorating". Well done to everybody who entered. Here are the winning flipnotes.
In our first selection by iiPD a highly focused cake decorator demonstrates how to pipe icing. Perfect technique!
This next beautifully made flipnote by ☆Z-6☆ shows the making of a cake from start to finish. The mixing, the cooking, the decorating and a cherry ontop for the final touch.
The guilty look on the dog's face in this entry by Ms.Holly♥ is just priceless. It's a great way to decorate a cake using bite marks! Don't worry, we won't tell :D
Cakes and pies can be used to decorate with, as well as being decorated themselves. This flipnote by Eylher shows this decorating technique beautifully with a good hearty pie in the face. XD
This Cake-Ninja has Awesome skills. Swish! Wizz! Whoosh! And with-in the blink of an eye, a fantastically decorated cake has been created. We really enjoyed this brilliantly made flipnote by Ryan XD . What a great idea, all cakes should be made by cake ninjas.
With Halloween approaching, we though we'd lead up to it with some fun scary topics. So we're starting with Ghosts. This would include phantoms, poltergeist, spectres, spirits and wraiths. Free free floating vaporous apparitions to a bed sheet with eye holes in it, it's all good. Often seen as transparent wispy shapes, or sometimes completely invisible, these supernatural beings love to scare humans silly. Haunted houses, castles and creepy graveyards are great places to find ghosts and could make good settings for your flipnotes.
FLIP-TIP : To get a transparent ghostly effect set your eraser to 'dot' by holding the shoulder button and tapping the eraser. Your eraser will deleat depending on what your paint brush is set to. Brush number 5, checker-board, is a good one. Then erase all over your ghost and Hey-Presto! It's transparent. Backgrounds will show through too, that makes a great effect.
Some popular movie references for this topic are : Ghost Busters, Poltergeist, Casper, A Christmas Carole. We really love the way your all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the flipnotes you create for them. Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel, and the deadline for your entries is the 15th of October. Keep on flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
