The Sudomemo Flipnote Fight Competition (FFC) is back! This is your chance to animate the ultimate showdown, frame by frame, punch by punch. Whether it's stylish martial arts, chaotic slapstick brawls, or over-the-top anime battles, we want to see your most intense and creative fight scenes brought to life. It’s time to throw down, show off your skills, and prove you have what it takes.
We saw some excellent entries last season, so we're looking forward to what you bring us this time around!
1. Entry Requirements
Entries must be created using Flipnote Studio on the Nintendo DSi and 3DS.
You may make one entry only. Multiple-Flipnote entries are allowed this season. If you do so, each part must be clearly marked with "(Part x of y)" at the end of the title.
2. Content Guidelines
The focus must be on fighting animation of any kind. Sound and music are encouraged for atmosphere! Judging is based upon the quality of your animations, and we encourage you to look over these Flipnote Tips to improve your craft.
Flipnote Tips!
• Choreography & Fight Design: Make sure your combat has a smooth flow! Focus on rhythm, spacing, and how the fight escalates to keep things engaging.
• Animation Fundamentals: Pay attention to things like weight, timing, and exaggeration. These little details make your animation feel alive and believable.
• Visual Appeal, Style, and Polish: Keep things clean and easy to follow. Strong posing and appealing design choices will make your Flipnote stand out!
• Creativity & Originality: Try to add some unexpected moments or clever techniques. Unique ideas can take your Flipnote to the next level!
• Innovation: Experiment with new methods, styles, or animation techniques. The more original you get, the more exciting your Flipnote will be!
• Story and Character: Don't forget about the story and characters! Keep your narrative engaging and your characters memorable to leave a lasting impact.
3. Submission Method
Upload your Flipnote(s) to Fall 2025 F.F.C.. The channel opens on Sunday, October 5th.
4. Deadline
All entries must be submitted by Saturday, October 18th at 23:00/11PM Eastern Time.
This season, we have prizes that you can use on Sudomemo!
1st Place: 1 year of Sudomemo Plus, Bailey Flitwing Ticket ($40 value)
2nd Place: 6 months of Sudomemo Plus, Lazy Paisley Ticket ($20 value)
3rd Place: 3 months of Sudomemo Plus. ($6 value)
Winners will also receive featured Flipnote spots on Sudomemo and eternal bragging rights! Whoa!
This season's FFC will be judged by Hatena360, Hyun, and Yunero from Hyun's Dojo, and (new this season) Sudomemo's very own Arixity! Each judge will pick their top 3 entries and award them Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. Once all judges have voted, we will tally up the medals across judges to decide the winners.
