And now, our winning Flipnotes from last week’s Topic “New Art Style“.

Well done to everyone who entered.

In the first of our Topic winning selections, King Mayro indulges in the new art style of Flavor Foley’s music video for their song “Static” with this truly spectacular MV.

Following its distinctive cartoon style, including a thick line drawing technique, it not only encapsulates the energy, pace, and charm of the original, but through artistic and highly skillful recreation, brings out a wonderful new Flipnote flavor all of its own!

Inspired by the art style of Aceford360, CerealBowl has created this fantastic MV, involving one of their favorite subjects, trains.

Echoing the creator’s style in every way, it’s scored with the perfect Country music track, along with a high level of drawing detail, moving camera-drift, and sing-a-long lyrics that takes one back to the heyday of the great railroads.

While looking in the bathroom mirror and fancying a change, ◇Shard◇ sees a variety of self reflections in different creator styles.

The mixing of artwork and character-play works extremely well, providing an ingenious showcase for the new art styles, while the character’s reactions and motivations bring the idea home beautifully.

Finding art style inspiration from fellow creator’s, SFZ has drawn twenty wonderfully varied renderings of OC “Ellem”.

Permanently stuck in a new art style, Jax wants, desperately, to return to normal in this expressively drawn and voice acted character, comedy skit by Weezer2005.

This Weeks Topic - "Strike a Pose"

The act of striking a pose for dramatic effect can be seen in dance, movie and theater acting, opera, mime, magic, puppetry, stand-up comedy, and even pro-wrestling, as well as many other forms of performance art.

Striking a pose is also a very important part of character animation. And is often achieved by taking the figure from a relaxed position into an expressive one, with an anticipatory bounce in between, to emphasize the movement.

Your Flipnotes could involve striking a pose in any way you like.

Why not start with a stick figure animation, and then flesh it out for the full dramatic effect.

Fit the pose to the character of your choice.

Research in movies, on-line images, or in front of a mirror, and just draw what you see!

Here’s a couple of dramatic poses we found to inspire you:

The statuesque “Thinker” pose”.

The melodramatic “Woe is me” pose.

The jubilant “Victory” pose.

There’s loads of different ones to find and use. Why not have a search and put together a combo!

However you decide to pose your animations, strike them full-on, and start making a Topic Flipnote today!

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Strike a Pose and the deadline for your entries is July the 20th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes, to highlight any details you’d like us to feature in our winner reviews.

Tip: The frame you save your Flipnote on will become the thumbnail, so choose your favorite or add a title page!

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
