Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly Newsletter and Topic Competition.

We had a fantastic response to our two week competition “Fall 2025 Sudomemo F.F.C.” and the judging is now complete!

The exciting competition results and in-depth winner reviews are available for you to enjoy, published in a separate article.

So now let’s continue with our Weekly News letter, and the restart of the Weekly Topic competition.

We’ll begin with a word about our ongoing fund raising activities.

Sudomemo Fundraising

Here at Sudomemo our fundraising activities reflect the quality of services we can provide.

We want to develop more educational content, as well as continued improvements and upgrades to our infrastructure.

With more funding we would be able to do more for the community and also ensure a healthier future for the site.

If you would like to make a donation then Sudomemo Patreon is the way to go! It will really help with the upkeep and running of Sudomemo, and there’s loads of special rewards to enjoy.

OK, now on with the Weekly Topic competition.

If you're thinking of creating a Flipnote for the topic, check out this week's Topic theme and description below. We've included ideas and inspiration to help get you started! You can also find a list of upcoming topics at the end of this newsletter.

Here's this week's Topic description.

This Weeks Topic - "The Giraffe"

A giraffe is a large, hoofed African mammal with an extremely long neck. It’s also the tallest living animal in the world!

Your Flipnotes could involve giraffes in any way you like.

Why not show them in their natural environment; How they move, walk, and run. Or how their great height benefits them in life.

Your ideas could be realistic, with observational animation and illustration. Or be created using cartoon characters and giraffe style humour for a fun comedy twist!

The creative choice is all yours!

Here’s some great cartoon giraffes characters you may want to check out for inspiration:

Melman the Giraffe - “Madagascar” (Animated Movie)

Bridget the Giraffe - “Disney’s The Wild” (Animated Movie)

Georgina the Giraffe - “64 Zoo Land” (Cartoon series)

Also, here’s an fascinating Giraffe character we found online, created by a human performer wearing a specialist Giraffe outfit:

Roy Mercer (Giraffe Character Actor) - Broadway production of “The Lion King” (Check out the video link below to see the character in action)

Whatever ideas, styles, or techniques you use to create your Topic Giraffes, go long, go tall, and go Flipnote!

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - The Giraffe and the deadline for your entries is October the 26th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes, to highlight any details you’d like us to feature in our winner reviews.

Tip: The frame you save your Flipnote on will become the thumbnail, so choose your favorite or add a title page!

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
