Sudomemo Featured Artist: Kittydog (October 23rd, 2019)

Hey Flipnote fans!

It's time for us to introduce the newest fun feature of Sudomemo: Sudomemo Featured Artists, where we'll be interviewing some of our many talented Flipnote artists.

Our first interview is with kittydog♥, who's been on Sudomemo since mid-2014, and previously on Flipnote Hatena.

Please tell us about yourself.

My name is Zola, or kd / kittydog :) I'm a furry, 16, and my pronouns are she/they.

What are your interests or hobbies, and how do you spend your free time?

I love animating / drawing (mainly fluffy animals and fantasy creatures) and writing about those cute fantasy characters. I also write and compose music, and I do sing/record in music. I also occasionally play games and do really weird random stuff and make really weird tweets in my "xd" moments :3

Please introduce some of your best Flipnotes, and tell us why you like them.

I'm proud of different ones for different reasons!

This one took a long time to make. It's very nostalgic because it's based off an old Flipnote many people shared around back in the Hatena days.

I was very proud of this as it has a cute style, is very smooth, and has many characters. I love stuff like that!

For this one, the background stuff is awesome and it was one of the first that I put a lot of movement into!

What techniques or skills are you especially good at in your Flipnotes? What are some techniques or skills that you wish to improve?

I'd say that I'm pretty good at making cool moving backgrounds and smooth animation. I'd like to learn to do perspective better and have more creative/interesting movements and smoother animation!

Please introduce some of your favorite artists on Sudomemo.

Kéké’s animations are absolute GOALS in terms of smoothness and cuteness and creativity :3 especially smoothness, like they have always been a huge inspiration to me in that area, to try animating at high frames per second with consistent/bouncy lines.

Sweirde makes really smooth animations and a really recognizable, cute, and nostalgic art style, and I absolutely love their characters and character designs!

Yaya was one of the first animators to inspire me to start in the first place! I find their animations and art style to be super nostalgic and adorable, and they have very smooth and creative videos and art.

Is there something you would like to say to the Sudomemo community?

I'm happy to be a part of the Flipnote community over the years and that it's been such a big inspiration for me and many others! <3
