Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Surfing"

Jumping onto your surfboard is a finely honed skill indeed. And this fantastically animated Flipnote, by DSiStylus™ shows us exactly how not to do it! Ouch! Now that's going to leave a mark!

kenpa(ケンパ) has been extremely creative with a classic sample Memo, flawlessly expanding the skateboarding Kitty Cat, into an awesome flying Nyanko Surfer. Really great job!

A surfer takes to the waves on a fish, in this delightfully animated entry, by Kendra♥♥♥♥. And don't miss the surfing acrobatics too. Those are some serious skills!

We were exhilarated by this 'Totally Tubular' Flipnote by Latina.pe. The movement of the water inside the cresting wave is extremely lifelike.

We also really enjoyed the informative Flipnote description.

The surf is rolling in just beautifully, in this amazing ocean shore animation, by Gabriel M.. We were especially impressed with the moment when the wave hits the beach. The clever use of highlighting creates a very effective backwash effect.

A couple of prospective surfers have second thoughts about taking to the waves, when the specter of a shark raises it's head, in this highly amusing Flipnote, by Mocha♥.

This Weeks Topic - "Star Wars"

This week, on May the 4th, it's national Star Wars day. So it's just the right time for another one of our fandom topics, Star Wars!

In a universe governed by the Force, the struggle between the light side, and the dark side is a never ending battle!

The Star Wars saga tells the stories of these conflicts from across the ages, with dazzling spaceship battles, light-sabre duels, and many weird and wonderful alien creatures and robots. They also feature many different protagonists, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Yoda, as well as the likes of Darth Vader, the Emperor, and even Jar Jar Binks.

Over the years, Star Wars has come a long way, introducing new characters, myths, and background stories of our old favourites. But the message of hope has remained the same.

My favorite creature has got to be Jabba the Hut! And my favorite spaceship is the Millennium Falcon. Do you have a favorite character, spaceship or creature? Then why not make a Flipnote about them, or any other aspect of the Star Wars franchise that appeals to you. So, with your Light-sabers styluses at the ready, 'May the Force (May the 4th) be with you!

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Star Wars and the deadline for your entries is (12pm EST / 4pm GMT) Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
