May 5th, 2019: Sudomemo Weekly News - Topic: Machines

Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly News Letter. There was a great response to last week's topic "Machines". Well done to everybody who entered. Here are the winning Flipnotes.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Machines"

In our first selection this week, by Sqwidgirly, an android re-boots itself. That's one sophisticated machine right there!

Check it out, this robot can break through walls! He makes a really cool robot noise too, in this Flipnote by YahiryDany. There's a great flow to the movement, and the free-moving box design makes for a very dynamic animation.

A lonely cyborg finds a friend, in this emotive and heart warming Flipnote by KateDotlin. The imagery and music work really beautifully together.

We loved the idea of the 'heart of the machine', in this entry by Lôgäれ™. The machine style design and old cinematic effects brings a surreal feeling to the animation.

A singing cyborg proclaims his individuality, in this splendid MV by Kêithkash★. What a brilliant choice of music, and we love to see character lip-synch with the lyrics. Great job!

A day in the life of a girl called Illora, is the subject of this delightful Flipnote by ♪Dorothy♪ü. She has a wonderful looking house, with mechanical quick-change doors, a great time saver in her daily routine.

Pao! has created a machine specially designed to dispense cubes. It's got a cog, a crank handle, and a conveyer belt! That's one productive machine, we reckon two cubes every second. We'll be placing an order real soon :).

A Robot, a washing machine, and even a type writer! Wow, that's three different machines for the price of one Flipnote. Latina.pe has used photo imports, as well as drawings to create these machines. Also, we particularly liked the 'Robo Intel' micro chip. It looks like it's working perfectly!

One must be careful when switching on a machine. A defective switch could be extremely hazardous, as we see in this entry by DGuy0827. A combination of photography, photo-tracing and manual shading was used to achieve the final result. It's electrifying!

A jet fighter is an incredible machine! See one performing amazing aerial acrobatics, in this entry by kenpa(ケンパ). Hey look, it's written something with its jet-stream in the sky. Now that's exciting advertising! We thank you :D.

It's giant robot show time with 'BIG FO' in this Flipnote, also by kenpa(ケンパ). Check out the little guy driving the robot, he seems to be in difficulty. No wait, a good giant sneeze will solve the problem. Has anyone got a tissue the size of a house? XD

A big shout out to Kenpa, who entered twenty Flipnotes into this week's topic. We really appreciate your enthusiasm and creativity.

This Weeks Topic - "Distortion"

This week's topic is Distortion. Distortion is to change the shape of something so that it looks strange or unnatural. It could be warped, twisted, spiralled, scewed, bent, buckled, squashed, or stretched.

Choose any subject you like, distorted in any way you can think of.

If you want to, why not use the DSi camera-distort mode, to create some weird and wonderful distorted photos for your Flipnote. Or use the graffiti tool to draw a picture on a photo (just colour the photo white, and draw ontop of it). Then distort it gradually as a sequence, for a distorting animation.

You can of course create your distortions purely in Flipnote Studio. Don't feel you have to use the DSi camera, it's up to you :).

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel, and the deadline for your entries is the 12th of May.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
