And now, our winning Flipnotes from last week’s Topic “National Star Wars Day“.
Well done to everyone who entered.
In this winning Flipnote comedy skit by Matthew756 an Evil Stick-Vader is none too pleased with the offer of a “Darth Inhaler” to solve his supposed breathing problems.
The use of a colorised photo-image for the hilarious punchline, was particularly effective!
One of this creator’s favorite villains, the I.G series 11 droid is fully activated, and firing on all cylinders in this stylish character animation by HALU.
The spinning action, and weapon discharge are strongly visualised with juddering movement and wizz-lines, as well as blast and flash effects.
Darth Vader’s secret turns out to be the ultimate Minecraft nightmare in this freaky, force-filled Topic, parody Flipnote by MuhⓁington.
What a painful revelation! Maybe a visit from the “Chicken Jockey" could help cheer Luke up!
Luke sums up Star Wars episode V in this satirical parody piece, entitled “Space Race: The Dark Pinches Back”!
We loved the expressive voice-acting used for both the character dialogue, and the closing music theme.
It really revels in the fandom fun!
Tightrope walking is the skill of walking along a suspended thin wire, or rope.
It can be done using a balancing pole, or free-handed, and with or without a safety net.
Because of its dangerous appeal, it has been attempted by dare-devil performers at great heights, and over perilous locations over many years.
For example, in 1859 The Great Blondin took a death-defying tightrope walk across Niagara Falls. And he did indeed make it safely to the other side!
Your Flipnotes could involve tightrope, or high-wire walking in any way you like.
Here’s a Flipnote technique you might like to try!
TOPIC TIP - FLIPNOTE TOOL USE:
Create your tightrope with a single straight drawn line across the screen. Then animate it as 2 lines, stretching down under the weight of the walker, using the following Flipnote Tools:
‘Start Button’ Plus ‘Stylus Drag’ = Straight Line
‘Select Button’ Plus ‘Stylus Drag’ = Diagonal line
If you animate your character first, with a walking, bouncy motion. Then draw in the lines from fixed points on either side, ending at their stepping foot, the results could be very effective!
We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.
Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Tightrope Walking and the deadline for your entries is May the 18th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).
We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes, to highlight any details you’d like us to feature in our winner reviews.
Tip: The frame you save your Flipnote on will become the thumbnail, so choose your favorite or add a title page!
Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
