May 26th: Sudomemo Weekly News - Topic: The Cinema

Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly Newsletter and Weekly Topic competition.

We had a great response to last week's topic “The Cinema”, and a selection of our favorite winning entries are coming up.

But first, some news about a change to the upcoming Topics.

With the time of year approaching for the anniversary of the Flipnote Hatena shutdown, next week's Topic will be Flipnote Hatena themed. There will be a special two week competition called F.A.T.E. (Flipnote Animation Throwback Event), which will involve re-animating classic Hatena Flipnotes. (More information on this will be available soon). So get your creative Hatena juices flowing as quickly as possible!

(Also, please note that the planned Topic "The Dentist" has now been moved forward two weeks (to June the 16th), after which the Topics will continue as before.)

OK, now back to the winning Flipnotes from last week's Topic.

And now, here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic "The Cinema".

Well done to everyone who entered.

Inspired by a Family Guy comedy routine, this Weekly Topic entry by Coolclam98 explores the hilariously confusing effect that too many movie studio logos can have on their cinema viewing audiences.

Skillfully imagined in Flipnote form, the ingenious satire sees Peter Griffin suckered time after time, until the final absurdly specific logo sends him into a frenzy!

Perhaps some kind of movie house Ad-Blocker could be in order!?

In their latest Weekly Topic countdown, Watson inc thrills us with a glimpse of potential cinematic inventions that could become a part of movie theaters in the near future.

As a student of sound design, the research is cutting edge, unveiling new concepts in immersive audio, giant screens, and sound vibration technology. Which are beautifully illustrated with informative drawings accompanied by fact filled text.

After the last cinema patron takes their seat, the excited hubbub of the auditorium is hushed into silence, as the film is about to start.

It’s Bean the movie!

And, hilariously,it’s been and gone before you even know it, in this Weekly Topic winner by AngryMelon.

It’s a “Spinner, Spinner, Topic Winner”!

Spinning off Cereal Bowl’s fabulous Flipnote “Oh boy, my favorite seat” with the unique Sudomemo phenomenon SPAC, first created by Nate, dermo..... presents this extraordinary cinema jump-scare.

My goodness, that was terrifying!

Raven court and Ashley sit through, or rather sleep through, an extremely lame movie in order to slam it on D.M. -review in this Weekly Topic winner by Ravencourt.

From the sound of it, they’re right on the money!

This Weeks Topic - "Kirby"

Kirby is an action-platform video game by Nintendo.

The series centers around the adventures of a pink, round hero named Kirby, as he fights to save and protect his home on the distant planet Popstar!

A great character to animate with, because of his circular shape and cheerful demeanor, your Topic entries could feature Kirby in any type of Flipnote you choose;

A line animation, a sprite game creation, an animated draw,, an illustration, a comedy skit, a dramatic tale, or how about an OC version of the cartoon character?

Whatever you decide, why not go pink? And color your Kirbys Flipnote style!

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Kirby and the deadline for your entries is June 2nd (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
