Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "The Glitch Effect"

Inquisitive stick dudes encounter an extremely weird glitching phenomenon in this mysterious and laugh-out-loud funny topic winning Flipnote by scaryⒷark😃.

The dialogue performance, animation, and otherworldly sound effects work wonderfully together to tell this bizarre, twilight zone-esque tale.

When a dumpling child is about to be eaten, a gruesome error occurs, disrupting the very fabric of the Flipnote universe in this hilarious topic winner by ♥SQUIRMLY♥.

The glitchy disruption is skillfully achieved with creative loop-select fragmentation of the image, accompanied by nicely chosen audio.

When Gaze returns a seriously glitched video game to the store, her friend Kira uses it to get revenge on her unpleasant boss in this topic winning entry by CosmicGAZ.

We just love the idea of the real world glitch effect that the buggy game has on anyone who touches it.

Also, don’t miss the illustrated story epilogue at the end of the Flipnote, to see how things transpire for both Gaze and Kira, as well as for the store manager!.

Pencil man pushes the wrong button with disastrously glitching results in this weekly topic winning Flipnote by Tugay Dost.

What a marvelous idea. And such a great character too, brought to life with speed 7 animation, first rate vocal performance, and a slapstick humor that never fails to amuse.

A sandwich crazy hombre recommends his favorite snack with maniacal determination, before glitching into loco-infinity in this brilliantly unnerving topic winner by ⒷIⒷⒷⒶ.

It’s odd, but does anyone else suddenly feel really hungry?

We certainly wouldn’t want to bump into him on a dark night!

Spider-Man’s adversary disappears mid battle with an astonishing glitch in this weekly topic winner by Sh0rtiot.

We were particularly impressed with the movement and energy in the disappearance effect, which includes imaginative character deformation along with text and flashing FX.

This Weeks Topic - "Sea Monsters"

Sea monsters from folklore are beings of immense size, believed to dwell in the seas and oceans of this world.

They can take many forms from sea dragons and sea serpents to monstrous fish and many tentacled beasts.

Note: This topic could also include giant prehistoric sea creatures as well as ones from myth and popular culture.

Your Flipnotes could feature any type of sea monster you choose, or one completely of your own creation.

Why not turn your OCs into ocean beasts? Or have them do battle with these gargantuan foe.

The creative choice is yours!

Here is a list of sea monsters for your inspiration:

The Kraken (Folklore sea monster)

Leviathan (Folklore sea monster)

Cthulhu (sea monster from literature)

Moby-Dick (monstrous white whale from literature)

Giant Octopus (movie sea monster)

Giant Squid (Real)

Megalodon (prehistoric dinosaur - AKA The Meg)

Mosasaur (prehistoric dinosaur)

Giant Octalus (From the monster movie “Deep Rising”)

(I’m a particular fan of this last one, as it was a favorite movie of mine and the inspiration for my name)

In any case, let’s all make giant sea monsters in Flipnote form, and see what havoc they can reign!

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Sea Monsters and the deadline for your entries is June 25th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
