July 20th: Sudomemo Weekly News - Topic: "Strike a Pose"

Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly Newsletter and Weekly Topic competition.

We had a great response to last week's topic “Strike a Pose”, and a selection of our favorite winning entries are coming up.

But first a reminder about Password Security.

Password Security

We want to make sure that your accounts are safe, so we'd like to remind you that passwords should never be reused across websites. If you aren't using one already, you should be using a password manager like KeePass or Bitwarden or 1Password to keep your credentials safe.

These password managers can also generate random sequences of letters and numbers and symbols which are much harder to guess and are unique for each website login.

And next, here's a word about our ongoing fund raising activities.

And now, our winning Flipnotes from last week’s Topic “Strike a Pose“.

Well done to everyone who entered.

This sensational Topic winning Flipnote by CosmicGAZ stars the dim-witted, ill-mannered beef cake Johnny Bravo in a hilarious romance failing MV.

Bursting at the seams with snappy gestures, lyrical imagery, and muscle bound antics, its blond hero strikes pose after pose, while striking out, time after time!

Meg’s photo-shoot debut kicks off with a “Bang” in this glamorous stick-girl animation by söderreich.

Edited in a montage style, with a high energy soundtrack and waggish dialogue, the sequence closes with a comedy punchline that hits its mark with the subtlest of expression changes.

Made in Blender, then imported into Flipnote, this 3D character animation by Arixity dazzled us with its multiple dimensions!

A splendid mix of angular design and characterful cartoon, Serily’s poseful performance and perspective movement in space look fantastic rendered in both photo texture, and paintbrush tools.

The sullen subject of an avid photographer refuses point-blank to cooperate in this hysterical Topic winner by piyopi!.

Remaining stony faced throughout, despite a barrage of external stimuli, Brim’s obvious dislike of being photographed contrasts wonderfully with Julian’s hopeful enthusiasm.

Inspired by the stylish action of Sonic the Hedgehog, PC Sonen10 leaps, dashes, gestures, and slides in this powerfully posed Topic winning entry.

This Weeks Topic - "Punning"

A pun is a joke involving word-play!

It exploits the different meanings of a word, or different words that sound alike.

Here are some examples:

1 - I used to be a baker because I KNEADED DOUGH!

2 - You can tune a guitar, but you can’t TUNA fish!

3 - A boiled egg in the morning is hard to BEAT!

Your Flipnotes could involve punning in any way you can think of.

Find plenty of punning jokes online to work with, or perhaps use ones you already know. Then animate them, illustrate them, have them told by a character, make them part of a skit, or whatever else you can think of!

Here’s a couple of links about punning you might find interesting:

We hope you find them helpful in making a Flipnote.

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Punning and the deadline for your entries is July the 27th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes, to highlight any details you’d like us to feature in our winner reviews.

Tip: The frame you save your Flipnote on will become the thumbnail, so choose your favorite or add a title page!

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
