Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "The Hippopotamus"

In our first topic winning selection this week, by Jake, while out for a relaxing swim, Wacky makes a discovery!

A hippopotamus!

Naturally curious, he attempts to make friends with the creature, but unfortunately for him the hippo isn’t interested.

It is however……….”HUNGRY!!!”

And what’s worse, it’s not alone.

Wacky could be in serious "Hungry-Hungry-Hippo" trouble now!

"Ooooooh!" Look out, it’s a feeding frenzy.

Swim Wacky, SWIM!!!

The hippo in our next weekly topic winner by JoseFigueC, is also extremely hungry. But this time, thankfully, his appetite is satisfied with merely fruit.

Nevertheless, this remarkable animal’s gigantic mouth comes into play once again, as incredulously, he devours each melon in a single succulent bite.

Mmmmm, juicy!

Come to think of it, I really fancy a piece of fruit right now. “Slurp”

A prevaricating hippo tells a picnic time story to his elephant pal Orvil in this hilarious Flipnote by Dawson.

We chuckled in our boots while the hippo beat about the bush telling his tale, eventually losing the thread completely and expounding on whether or not a story should actually be about anything at all.

Also, don’t miss PC Dawson’s astonished appearance at the end of the Flipnote. He clearly doesn’t think much of the Hippo’s storytelling abilities either! “Giggle”

Glin has put together a highly instructional “How To Draw A Hippo” Flipnote for this weekly topic winning entry.

We loved the clever mixing together of matching ideas here.

Not only is a cartoon bean shape used for the hippos head, but the character also gets an “Among Us” Bean riding on its back in the final illustration.

We were thrilled with this conceptual piece of character design, by Josémiguel.

The joining of a cartoon hippopotamus with a Kirby Meme, as well as the creator’s profile character name, gave rise to a truly original OC.

A very nice illustration indeed, and great work with the paint brush shading and hi-lights.

A hippo shows off her impressive set of teeth, in this topic winning entry by Sushi.

Like her mouth, they’re simply enormous. And in perfect condition too!

Woaw!

We’re positive even the crocodiles would think twice before messing with hippo tusks like that!

This Weeks Topic - "Crushed And Flattened"

This week's topic is all about things getting crushed and flattened.

From a tube of toothpaste, or a tomato underfoot, to pastry being rolled flat, or a car in a crusher, there’s many things that can be squashed, crushed or flattened in all sorts of different ways.

And in animation even cartoon characters can be completely flattened without so much as a scratch;

This is an accepted ability of a Toon (Cartoon character). As they are made of only ink and paint, they cannot come to harm in usual ways! This compelling fantasy logic is explained fully in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Check it out, it’s amazing!

So why not have fun in a similar vein with your profile characters, OCs, or any other subjects you like. Have them get squished, compressed, hammered flat or pulverized wafer thin in whatever imaginative and outlandish ways you can think of.

Whether you go realistic, or fantasy cartoon, the choice is entirely up to you.

Just make sure to have a super-squashing time! “Giggle”

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Crushed And Flattened and the deadline for your entries is August 14th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
