Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Kicking"

Our first topic winning selection this week, by Sammy! features a budding young footballer making a wayward kick of truly epic proportion!

Much to the annoyance of his furious team mate, it rockets up into outer space, only to return with catastrophic destruction before he can exact his revenge!

SpongeBob and friends escape the clutches of evil Jig-saw with some incredibly fortunate kicking in our next topic winner by DECA.

Including great character drawing, lip-sync, and a spectacular Poke-kick by Sandy the squirrel, Patrick crashes their way to freedom with a starfish shaped hole in the wall.

It’s penalty taking time in a heated football match between the OC’s of JoseFigueC.

The tension mounts as they take turns with kicking and goal keeping. But who will win the day?

Watch this winning topic entry to find out!

Based on the video game “Mirror’s Edge” this winning entry by jacob uses constructional animation to create martial art kicks and blocks for a dynamic action fight sequence.

We love seeing these kinds of drawings as they give a fascinating insight into how animations are made.

Great job!

Breaking down the kicking action into 3 parts and only using rectangles and circles, Glin has animated a highly effective ball-kick for this winning Flipnote.

The vocal sound effects also work well and punctuate the action nicely.

Alice Lace has created a fantastic Kirby-Can-Can kick for this colorful and well drawn winning topic Flipnote.

A great mix of cartoon and figurative animation.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Halloween 2022 and the deadline for your entries is November 6th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We will have winner revues in the weekly Newsletter as usual for the Flipnotes that have been entered each week. And we’ll leave the channel open for the full fortnight to give you plenty of time to make and post your entries.

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.
