November 8th, 2020: Sudomemo Weekly News - Topic: "Donuts"

Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly News Letter and Weekly Topic competition. Don't forget to check out next week's topic theme and it's description, as well as the subsequent Upcoming Topics at the end of the News Letter.

But first a word about our Halloween game SudoQuest Requiem...

SudoQuest Requiem Success

We were absolutely delighted to see that so many of you enjoyed playing our Halloween game SudoQuest Requiem. Six hundred and sixty one plays in all! We hope you fared well against the likes of Zombit and Playful Pumpkin, and didn't fall foul of the Derpy Ghost too many times.

I know I did!

Sadly, the game's playable period has now come to an end. But during this week, many of you successfully completed Requiem, and there were one hundred and twenty five trophies and special prizes awarded for completion of the game.

Congratulations to all of you witches and wizards, who had fun playing it.

And now, back to the topic.

Here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic "Donuts". Well done to everybody who entered.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Donuts"

Our first selection this week, by flipy😃😃, features a will full child with an Extreme-Donut-Ultimatum!

It's brilliantly animated, with expression, and full character movement. And is very nicely coloured and shaded as well. A high quality Flipnote indeed.

As well as a delicious treat, donuts have all sorts of other uses too, as this inspired three dimensional Flipnote by Glin demonstrates. By using a donut as a hula-hoop, you can burn off the calories you gain from eating one. Now there's a healthy, and tasty idea!

Kyle has a desperate craving for a donut, in this charming and whimsical entry by ✕Cryptive✕. And joy of joy, he achieves his goal.

But wait! Aura isn't at all happy about it, and suddenly he's flying through the air. Now that's a laugh out loud punch line right there!

A boy takes a great big bite out of a very tasty looking donut, in this Flipnote by ニコニコデルタ.

We were particularly struck by the size ratio of boy to donut here, and loved the idea of the availability of donuts in this size.

Mmmm, colossal Donut!

In our next hilarious entry, by Mario209, an epic battle over a last donut ensues. Featuring the great characters Scout and Soldier, the dynamic and explosive action plays out to a manic, military sound track, the end of which is a loss for both sides.

Ah well, all's fair in love and donut war!

In this Flipnote, Karl mixes drawn animation and photo stop-motion, to achieve an ingenious mid-air donut chomp!

Watching it frame by frame, we noticed photo adjustments to increase the size of the open mouth, which works really well to get the idea across of eating the donut whole.

Very nicely done!

This Weeks Topic - "Kindness"

This week on November 13th, it's World Kindness Day. So this topic is all about being kind!

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate to others, without having any expectation of praise or reward.

Benevolence, humanity, charity, sympathy and compassion are all forms of kindness. It's a worthy virtue indeed.

From Jesus to mother Teresa, many people are famous enough for their great acts of kindness across the ages.

Who can you think of, who is especially kind?

Why not make a Flipnote about them?

Or maybe create an animation about the positive effects of kindness. Or the negative effects from the lack of it.

From a simple smile, to opening a door for someone, how will you celebrate World Kindness Day?

Please show us in the form of a Flipnote. We'd be very appreciative of such a kind gesture.

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them. Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Kindness and the deadline for your entries is November 15th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT) Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
