Hey there Mat.
It's not a time lapse animation, but I did use a flickering photo for the setting. I moved the water using Flipnote tools (loop select nudge etc) and lots of different techniques on both layers.
I posted a Flipnote about how I made it along time ago on a different account.

Man, I'm looking at the lighting and everything here, and the transparency of the water when it's almost empty, you got it all just right. You are a genius. A spin-off sounds like fun but I don't think I'd have the patience.
