Vinny's Flipnote Import Guide: Part One

This Flipnote originally used my method of taking pics of the screen directly but with so much that could go wrong I found this tool that works much better instead. Part 2 will focus on editing video and images to look better in Flipnotes Studio.

  • @Arixity Yes, I used Lutris out of lazyness, but using Wine version wine-ge-8-26-x86_64. Auto is broken for me on export so I use Manual on a random path and just moved the files afterwards.

  • wait i just read one of the comments below, signapic can work on wine??? i remember trying over and over and it just did not want to work at all, making me rely on using windows...
it would be a livesaver if it works on wine for me, as my main os is Kubuntu

  • I'm so glad you can just put jpg's in DCIM folder on 3ds

  • @GammaBoost I asked and got the OK. No tools being used is directly affecting Flipnote Studio, only indrectly though the camera app.

  • Isn't this against sudomemo's terms of service?

"Would you still be able to do a tutorial for your old method with that giant rig? 1. interested to see how it works. 2. You have to use the camera in Flipnote. So it would be handled."
  • What OS are you using? I can personally confirm that Linux based OS's can run Signapic though wine (tested using Lutris) though I would set the folder to a manual location instead of writing directly to SD card.

"Is there a method for non-Windows users?"
  • Nice tutorial for others who wanna do this 😃

  • That's fantastic advice I'll keep that in mind to avoid messing with the internal DSi's NAND.
