I dropped my 3DS twice and both times the back plate fell off and the battery popped out it looked like a mess and I thought its days were over, but luckily it still works fine. Never dropped my DSi but it still went kaput anyway.
I'm sure that ds is okay just look at mine it's perfectly safe (in heaven) when I dropped it like 3 times but that's not important. I'm just saying your ds is immortal to fall damage. And no my ds is not a baby it's a baby on the death bed that's underground stop making fun of me

I dropped my 3ds and the back fell off and the battery came out at first it didn't detect the sd card but then it worked fine
once my sister grabbed my 3ds and spiked it into the corner between and wall and floor and the hinge completely exploded and shattered everywhere
Im sure it'll be ok, i got dropped a few times and im perfectly fine
