And now, here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic “The Treasure Chest".
Well done to everyone who entered.
While exploring deep within a dungeon, an adventurer falls foul of a Treasure Chest Mimic in this Weekly Topic winning Flipnote by Drake Star.
Utilizing numerous animation techniques, the man eating chest is brought to life, firstly with inverted flash frames for a tongue lashing action that grips its prey, and secondly, by an exaggerated ‘Stretch And Squash’ of the wide open lid, as it engulfs the character like a giant mouth, before swallowing them with a burp!
Held in a state of perpetual anticipation, Zelda’s Link contemplates what could be inside a mysterious treasure chest in this Topic winning animation by Matt.
Using the Background Color Switch function with an incredible free-floating camera move creates a ‘drifting in the void’ like experience, as we await the dramatic opening…….
But will eternity ever be found?
Negotiating traps, and fighting foes, a hero stick man quests for the ultimate treasure chest prize in this topic winning entry by Eg Mex.
Embellished with splendid details such as flaming torches, and a dynamic motion blur attack, the dramatic sequence concludes with an ironic punchline that really gave us a giggle!
We were very impressed with the use of color, multiple paintbrush shade, and varying line thickness in the rendering of this treasure chest created by Patter2.
But what technical apparatus does its rectangular wooden exterior contain?
Hit play to find out!
Bungee jumping is an activity that involves a person jumping from a great height while connected to a large elastic cord.
These jumps can be attempted from cliffs, bridges, cranes, buildings and the like for the enormous thrill of falling headlong towards the ground where, rather than crashing, the elastic slows the bungee jumper, who then rebounds up and down.
Your Flipnotes could involve bungee jumping in any way you like;
They could be spectacularly successes or disastrous fails, and feature any characters, style or technique of your choice.
Note: This may also be a good opportunity to test your bouncing animation skills!
Whatever you decide, make sure to launch yourself into this rebounding Topic no holds barred!
We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.
Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Bungee Jumping and the deadline for your entries is April 7th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).
We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.
And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.
Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
