Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Motorbikes"

Wacky’s got himself a sick new ride in this Weekly Topic winning Flipnote by Jake.

And this time, believe it or not, it’s INVISIBLE!

Watch as he cruises about town, seemingly floating upon air, while still managing to leave chaos in his path, before a mind boggling jump lands him squarely in the Mcdonalds car park.

Could that be for a Big Wack with extra cheese?

This rip-revving Topic Flipnote by Matt follows a dirt bike rider, as they swerve their way across rough terrain.

Very nicely drawn indeed, the efficient animation is composed of flawlessly linked cycles to create the wheel movement, tracks, and rocky ground line, as well as the bike’s leaning rear view.

The engine sound effect is also very convincing, bringing the bike to life with a mechanical whirr!

A bike comes to a glorious end when it attempts a colossal half-pipe in this Topic winning animation by jonah1.

The bike’s momentum is beautifully gauged as it traverses the obstacle, taking flight with a final burst of speed, where, after hanging in the air for the briefest instant, it plummets back to earth to meet its demise.

What an epic final trick!

Ignoring advice to the contrary, a Mario Kart competes with a motorbike in this racing Topic entry by Cardbored.

Will power triumph over experience?

Tune in to find out!

Just stay clear of the finish line, as things are likely to get out of control!

The realization of impending disaster comes just a second too late in this hilarious, crash and burn-topic winner by Garyn.

Always keep your eyes on the road !

This Weeks Topic - "Lenses And Prisms"

Lenses and Prisms are transparent optical devices that focus and refract light.

Usually made of glass, they can be found in scientific devices, microscopes, telescopes, periscopes, magnifying glasses, spectacles and monocles, and can magnify, distort and shift visuals in many different ways.

Also, as well as prisms refracting light, this phenomenon also occurs in rainbows where water droplets refract the colors of the spectrum with exceptionally beautiful results.

Your Flipnotes could be about anything at all that involves lenses and/or prisms in any way you like.

But here’s an idea you might like to try.

A Flipnote Idea For This Topic

With a circle or a square as your lens or prism, animate it moving around the screen to show the distortion of an image behind it.

Try using the layers, Flipnote functions, drawing tools, or the DSi camera to create the distorted view.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Lenses And Prisms and the deadline for your entries is October 8th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
